Definition: In Italian, "biale" means yellow or orange. This is also known as "marrone" in English. It usually refers to a type of wine made from grapes that are grown on Sicily. The term "Bialetti", however, was not used until the 19th century when it became a more widespread term for referring to Italian wines that were produced during the height of their popularity during the 18th and 19th centuries. Biale wines can range in color from yellowish orange to red, depending on the particular grape varieties.
