Definition: A sour substance.
Alright class, settle down and listen close to me,
Let’s talk about acids – it’s quite a chemistry!
The dictionary’s right, you see, it’s true,
They have a
sour
taste, for me and for you.
But “sour” is just one little part, you know,
Of what an acid really does, let's make it flow!
Acids are substances that can donate a
proton
,
A tiny particle, moving on and on.
They react with metals, they fizz and they pop,
And change the color of some things, non-stop!
Think of lemons bright, or vinegar so keen,
These are all examples, a chemical scene!
So remember this rhyme, it’s easy to keep,
Acids are sour, but their secrets run deep!
