Definition: The word "adenochrome" is a term used in medicine to describe changes in the color or structure of cells within the skin, particularly the skin pigment called melanin. It is characterized by the presence of brown or black spots, raised areas, or areas where cells appear irregular and detached from their normal position. Adenocytes, or brownish cells, are responsible for producing and storing vitamin D. As a result of an injury, infection, or other causes, some of these cells can become damaged or denatured, leading to the appearance of red spots on skin. Other types of skin changes with adenochroma include: - Tinted Skin: In a common form, the skin may appear light and yellowish.
