Definition: Adenomyoma is a benign, non-cancerous tumor that occurs in the uterus, cervix, or fallopian tubes. It can affect any part of the reproductive system except the testes. The adenomyoma is typically asymptomatic at first but may present with symptoms such as abdominal pain, vaginal discharge, and infertility. Some women with adenomyoma have normal pregnancy rates and still conceive despite having a benign tumor. Adenomyomas are not considered to be curable, and treatment options include chemotherapy, radiation therapy, or surgery for the management of the disease. Women who develop adenomyoma should always seek medical advice from their healthcare provider.
