Definition: A principle of behaviour, conduct etc. thought to be desirable or necessary, especially as formally expressed by a government or other authoritative body.
Alright class, settle down, let’s take a look today,
At a word that’s important, in so many ways!
We've got 'policy,' and the dictionary’s true,
Says it’s about behavior, for me and you.
“A principle of conduct,” it does proclaim,
Something we
should
do, within this game.
"Desirable or necessary," a helpful plea,
Like rules for schools, for you and me!
And listen close now, this is the key,
It’s often written down, for all to see.
By governments grand, or bodies strong and bold,
A policy's a guideline, carefully controlled.
Think of traffic laws, or school rules too,
That’s a policy in action, clear and true!
So 'policy' means a plan, a course to steer,
Based on what’s best, year after year!
