Definition: Hilary Elizabeth Radley (1905–1987) was an English author, best known for her novels set in a fictional Yorkshire village called Belper and her short stories in which she plays detective. She also wrote for children. In 1932, Hilary Radley received the Carnegie Medal for "Belper" (a novel). She lived to be 82.
