Definition: Apocalyptic refers to a period when people believe there will be an end to humanity due to sin or evil. The term originally meant time after life on earth ends, but it has since been expanded to refer to any scenario where Godβs judgment will come upon humanity and all life. The Bible uses the concept of apocalyptic to describe various stages of this judgment, including a period before Christβs return at the end of the age, during which suffering awaits those who refuse to follow Jesus, and an immediate coming of the Son of Man.
