Definition: The natural world; that which consists of all things unaffected by or predating human technology, production, and design. (Compare ecosystem.)
Alright class, settle down, let’s take a look,
At a word we use, both simple and book-y, took!
“Nature,” it’s called, a lovely sound you see,
But what does it truly
mean
for you and me?
The dictionary gives us a helpful clue,
A definition clear, honest and true.
It says “the natural world,” let that sink in deep,
Beyond our machines, secrets to keep!
"That which consists of all things," it’s plain to view,
“Unaffected by or predating human hue.”
No factories humming, no wires bright and bold,
Just stories unfolding, ancient and old.
(Think of a forest, silent and serene,)
(Or a mountain rising, majestic and keen!)
"Production and design," it gently excludes,
Leaving the wildness, for our spirits to choose.
It's like an "ecosystem", a balanced delight,
Where creatures and plants live in harmony bright.
So nature’s not just flowers, or trees tall and grand,
But everything natural, across the land!
Now let’s think about it - what
feels
like nature to you?
Does it whisper secrets, fresh and new?
Okay class, any questions before we move on?
